SARAH CALVER is a performer, writer & director based between Berlin & London. She trained at Ecole Jacques Lecoq, The Central School of Speech & Drama, & NYT. Specialising in physical theatre, puppetry & new writing, she works mainly in the collaborative & devised realms, and has created, performed & toured with companies including; Fevered Sleep, Blind Summit, The National Theatre, FanShen, Divano Occidentale Orientale (Odin), Made in China, Offstage, Gameshow, Tangled Feet, Old Vic New Voices; & has hung out with Gecko, Fabulous Beast & The Wooster Group. She founded international theatre collective Flight of the Escales in 2011 to act as a platform for artists to get together; share ideas, skills & practices; & create work for a world-wide audience. Her solo show I GAVE HIM AN ORCHID won the 100˚ Jury Prize (Berlin) & is touring internationally. The companies next show CIRCUS WTF is being developed in London, Berlin & Lille, before previewing at Sophiensaele in 2015. Sarah’s other projects as a writer include PISWER (Pulse Festival); TWELVE MILES FROM NOWHERE (ATT, Shortlisted Writers Guild Award).
